About Me

I've been a long-time resident of Torrance. My wife, Zohra and I have one daughter, Alysiah who keeps us very busy, especially since she started crawling.

Zohra and I spend a lot of time volunteering in Torrance. We want our daughter to learn the value of family, community, and public service early on. We are active members of our North Torrance Neighborhood Association and volunteer for the Torrance Theater Company.

A few of our favorite community events are the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, the Torrance Education Foundation's annual dinner, the Armed Forces Day Parade, Spotlight Awards, South Bay Festival of the Arts, Movies in the Park, and the summer musicals at the Armstrong. In 2016, we also graduated from the Partners in Policing class presented by the Torrance Police Department.

In addition, my formal service background includes:

  • Board Member, Personnel Commissions Association of Southern California (over 12 years)

  • Commissioner, Cultural Arts Commission, City of Torrance (over 6 years)

  • Commissioner, Personnel Commission, Torrance Unified School District (over 5 years)

  • Treasurer, Arts Council of Torrance (over 2 years)

Lastly, we love to travel around the world, shop at Del Amo Fashion Center (actually that's more Zohra's spot), watch the Cowboys and the Lakers, as well as grab a bite at all the eateries in Old Torrance and around town!
